Drop camps are a unique way for back-country savvy guests to experience the wilderness on their own. You’ll coordinate with us on 1. Where you want to get to and 2. When you want to get there and 3. How many stock animals we’ll need to pull it off. We’ll pack in your gear for you, so you’re essentially paying to be “dropped off” in the wilderness. This type of trip is only recommended for those guests who are extremely comfortable being in the wilderness without a guide and who have their own survival equipment.

For backpackers looking to get a leg up on their journey, a drop camp is an excellent idea. You can still plan your own itinerary and experience the solitude of the Swan Valley / Flathead National Forest, but get a little help from us at Swan Mountain Outfitters.
