Glacier National Park Horseback Trail Rides
Glacier National Park is a land of shining mountains, sweeping alpine views, and aquamarine glacial waters, awaiting you to experience. And, what better way to do that than on horseback? Get off the beaten track and hit the trail at our corrals inside the park at Apgar, Lake McDonald, and Many Glacier. We also have a corral in West Glacier just a mile outside the Park entrance. Our friendly wranglers can't wait to meet you and show you Glacier the way it's meant to be seen. Or, for a truly unique experience, check out our drop camp services.
Llama Trekking
Llama trekking in Montana is the ultimate family adventure! The llamas do all the heavy lifting by carrying gear, leaving you to hike unencumbered. All ages and hiking levels can be enjoy anything from two hour Wine and Cheese Llama Treks, to half-day hikes, all-day mountain hikes, and multi-day overnight backpacking treks in the wilds of Montana.
Guided Fishing Trips
Whether you are a total beginner or an expert angler, our guides can help you reel in your dream fishing vacation. Want to learn how to fly fish? Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to offer instruction and introduce this fantastic sport to you. We offer a variety of fishing options out of our Swan Valley location, including hiking and float trips, lake pike fishing, all day or overnight horseback/fishing trips and multi-day horseback/fishing trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex.
Summer Horseback Pack Trips
Swan Mountain Outfitters offers three and five day horseback pack and fishing trip vacations in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Summer pack trip guests get access to real wilderness, while retaining some comforts like good food and a cozy camp. We venture out in a different direction from camp each day, exploring different parts of the wilderness and we return to the same location each evening. These trips are great for families, groups or friends that like to vacation together. Join us for this authentic Montana adventure!
Guided Snowmobile Trips
Winter in Northwest Montana is a wonderland best experienced by snowmobile! Many of our winter guests take time from their ski vacations to see Montana from a unique perspective. Montana's hundreds of miles of groomed public trails provide riders of all levels the perfect adventure for families and groups. We offer a wide range of guided snowmobiling tours including two hour, half day and full day tours, and other unique snowmobile tours including the longest continuous guided tour, The Great Northern Ultimate Tour.
Wilderness Guide School
Swan Mountain Wilderness Guide School hosts courses in big game and waterfowl guiding, wrangling, packing, river rafting, and backcountry cooking. Courses are taught by recognized experts and professionals and utilize the latest methods in outdoor guide school instruction, hunting techniques, and hunting outfitter and adventurer training. Come to the scenic Swan Valley to learn new skills or jumpstart a new career.
Guided Montana Hunting Trips
Swan Mountain Outfitters provides guided, free chase big game hunts in rugged Northwestern Montana. We are fortunate to have access to thousands of acres of the Flathead National Forest and the famed Bob Marshall Wilderness. Hunts offered include: mule and whitetail deer hunts, archery elk hunts, archery whitetail hunts, wilderness elk hunts, wilderness multi-weapon hunts, wilderness combination big game hunts, spring and fall black bear, and mountain lion hunts.
