Saddle Paddle Trips
Horseback rides in Glacier National Park are one of the best ways to explore the Park's hidden treasures. But, on a hot summer day, what could be better than a horseback ride in the morning followed by a whitewater rafting trip in the afternoon? Swan Mountain Outfitters is pleased to offer saddle paddle vacation packages with the following Flathead River rafting companies:
Ride and Hike Trips
For as long as Glacier has been around, horses have been one of the primary means of exploring the Park. Yet, since horses are not allowed to stay overnight in the backcountry, horseback rides in Glacier are restricted to single day excursions. However, by teaming up with Glacier Wilderness Guides, Swan Mountain Outfitters can provide you and your family a unique, guided trip in Glacier.
You, along with your Glacier Wilderness Guide, will start out by taking our horses to Sperry Chalet or any destination of your choosing. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery while the horses do the hard work getting you and your gear to some tough locations. Once the horses have taken you as far as they can go, you will dismount and say goodbye to the horses. From here, you and your guide are free to explore the backcountry for anywhere from two days to a week. The ride and hike trips are completely customizable so pricing will depend on how many people are in your group and the amount of time you want to stay in the great wide wilderness.
Luxury Hotel Stay with Adventure Package of Activities
Your adventure begins with a stay at the famous Belton Chalet. This will serve as your headquarters as you explore Glacier National Park's many wonderful activities. Packages are customizable, but basically include accommodation at the Belton and a variety of activities such as a two hour horseback ride at any Swan Mountain Outfitters stable, a half day (three to four hour) white water rafting trip, and a red bus tour of the Park.
Fishing Northwest Montana
The Middle and North Forks of the Flathead River make a great day of fishing for many Glacier visitors. Why not combine it with a fishing float trip with Swan Mountain Outfitters down the Swan River? The Swan River is also wild and scenic, and presents a very different fishing experience than the Flathead. You will fish one day on the Flathead River and one on the Swan River.
The Ultimate Adventurer's Vacation
For those looking for the finest of Montana Adventure vacations, look no further. Lucky vacationers selecting this trip will first go on a three day, two night float trip on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River with one of our rafting company partners. We will then pick you up and bring you to Swan Mountain Outfitters' base camp in the Swan Valley for a three day two night horseback pack trip into the Bob Marshall. This combines the very best features of a float and horseback vacation into one vacation package. Availability of these one-of-a-kind trips is very limited.
The beauty of packaged vacation options is that the sky is the limit in terms of the possibilities. From unique lodging options in the backcountry chalets or old historic hotels to guided trips to the best Montana fly fishing holes, we can combine our Glacier National Park horseback rides with nearly any activity to make your family vacation truly unique and memorable.
